When a Connecticut-based franchisee wanted to further expand into Rochester it turned to Tipping Point Communications to drum up enthusiasm to welcome one of the fastest-growing operators of fitness centers in the country.
Tipping Point delivered a plan that saw state, local and community leaders along with NASCAR driver Joey Logano and roughly 350 people celebrate the Aug. 3 opening of the area’s newest Planet Fitness at Panorama Plaza, 1621 Penfield Road, Penfield. Local media also covered opening.
“We are really happy to be part of the community and we just enjoy what we do,” said John Hrinda, president of northeast operations for ECP – PF Holdings Group Inc., the largest Planet Fitness franchisee in the U.S. “It really is a gym for every single person. We don’t judge here at Planet Fitness.”
ECP has invested roughly $3 million to open a new 18,000-square-foot location in Penfield and renovate a 25,000-square-foot facility at South Town Plaza, 3333 West Henrietta Road, Henrietta. It also hired 15 new employees.
Both facilities feature all-new state-of-the-art workout equipment, modern locker rooms, massage chairs, tanning beds and more.
A ribbon cutting for the remodeled Henrietta location took place on August 9, and included a $1,000 check presentation to the Genesee Street Boys and Girls Club of Rochester.
Penfield Town Supervisor Tony LaFountain, State Assemblyman Mark Johns, Penfield Chamber of Commerce President Jen Novy attended the Penfield opening along with a crowd of roughly 350 guests.
Many guests waited to meet, get autographs and take pictures with Logano, prior to his Aug. 6 race at Watkins Glen International. Logano’s team also live streamed the grand opening event to roughly 170,000 of his fans on Facebook.
