Media Strategy & Buying Intern

Tipping Point Communications is currently seeking “A” Players to join our team for summer 2019. Interns will grow your marketing strategy skill set and develop a deeper understanding of operations in an agency setting. Candidates must be a junior or senior in college, or a graduate student able to receive college credit. Reports to: Media Director

Duration: 3 months (June-August)/part-time

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Client Work
  • Assist account leads in the day to day management of client work including:
    • Learning how to create and present media specific documents such as media plans, objectives and strategies decks, and other related functions
    • Assisting account lead in coordinating client meetings and preparing materials for distribution
    • Distributing meeting recap notes to internal team members, summarizing all deliverables and next steps
    • Attending client meetings on request of account lead
    • Interns may be given opportunities to follow-up on with clients on project work that they are assisting with
  • Learn and work in project management software
  • Participate in team brainstorms to kick off plan and consideration set development
  • Provide critical thinking and analysis to draw conclusions and construe actionable implications
Media Buying
  • Support team in media plan development stage to collect RFP responses from partners/sites, assist in analyzing proposals and partner negotiations
  • Learn to create campaign post-launch information such as screenshots, links and placement information to demonstrate proof of placement for clients
  • Assist in entering and managing plans in billing system (SBMS), tracking insertion orders, creative specifications development, etc.
  • Maintain plan records, insertion orders, contact lists, and spec documents etc.
Other Work
  • Regularly attend media team meetings
  • Attend other internal meetings including agency meetings, account service team meetings, and others as necessary
  • Assist with Tipping Point marketing efforts including blog post writing, social media content creation, and additional content creation
