Karen Sims brings more than two decades of proven experience in corporate communications, media and community relations, crisis communications, public affairs, and human resources to her senior account supervisor role.
Karen specializes in consumer PR, organization start-ups, crisis communications and issues management.She has worked with major clients across a wide variety of industries— retail, food and beverage, finance, broadcasting, marketing, advertising and public relations, high-tech manufacturing, non-profit groups, travel and hospitality, consumer packaged goods, real estate, and healthcare.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Notre Dame, where she studied in the university’s London Undergraduate Program. She holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Nazareth College of Rochester, where she received the Dr. Will Kuchta Excellence in Human Resource Management Award.
Karen’s certifications include the SHRM-SCP. Karen is active in the Rochester community as a volunteer, board member and committee chair. Karen is a past board member and president of the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Rochester and a recipient of the University of Notre Dame Alumni Club of Rochester Person of the Year Award.
She also volunteers and advises for Nazareth College, Villa of Hope, InterVol, and the Blessed Sacrament Supper Program.. An avid concert, film, and theatre fan, Karen is a member of the Toronto International Film Festival, the Little Theatre Film Society, and supports other local non-profit organizations.
